Taras assured that each player of the national team gives his all to achieve the result.
Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Taras Stepanenko took part in a press conference on the eve of the match 3rd round of the group stage of the 2024/25 Nations League against the Georgian team.
The 35-year-old footballer, who arrived at the national team camp with an injury, assured that each player of the “blue-yellows” feels responsible for their country and does everything possible to please the fans.
“When I first got into the Ukrainian national team, even the youth team, it was a great achievement for me. It should be like that for any football player. When I had injuries before, I came to the national team with them and tried to help the team. And at 35, my attitude to the national team has not changed. Every fan, functionary, player should understand this. The football players here give their all to the team.
If you have a chance to play, you go out every day and work in training and after them to be ready. Every player of the Ukrainian national team prepares like that, feels responsible for his country, will give the whole field so that our fans are happy with the team.
Therefore, it is not true that the Ukrainian national team players do not want to play, do not give their all. Everyone who comes here is the most responsible person and the most willing to help our country,” the official UAF website quotes Stepanenko as saying.
Earlier it was reported that Rebrov explained, why he didn’t call Yarmolenko up to the Ukrainian national team for the October Nations League matches.
