Famous Ukrainian football coach says he works at TCC

Yuriy Vernidub combines coaching and military service.

Head coach of “Kryvbas” Yuriy Vernidub said that he has been serving at the Kryvyi Rih Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TCS SP) since the summer of 2022.

The 58-year-old Ukrainian specialist told the Army FM online publication about this.

“To the Armed Forces of Ukraine I joined on February 27. I returned on the 26th, and on the 27th I was already in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in Zaporizhia. Now I am also in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but back in 2022, in mid-June, I was transferred to the Kryvyi Rih TCC SP and I remain there to this day.

But at the same time, I was given the opportunity to work as the head coach of Kryvbas, and in this position I can be of great benefit to our country. I have already given more than a hundred interviews to both Ukrainian and international publications. We performed in Europe, where we reminded everyone that there was a war going on in Ukraine and that we needed support to defeat this disease called “Russia,” the official website of “Kryvbas” quotes Vernidub as saying.

After the start of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops, Vernidub, who was then working in Moldova as the head coach of Tiraspol's “Sheriff”, immediately returned to Ukraine and joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his native country from the occupiers.

In June 2022, Vernidub became the head of “Kryvbas”. Currently, the Kryvbas team occupies eighth place in the UPL standings, having scored 11 points after eight matches.

Earlier it was reported that the club, whose footballer was taken from the station by TCC workers, withdrew from the Ukrainian championship.
