Ukrainian football club refused to play championship match: media reported scandalous reason

FSK Mariupol football players did not show up for the First League match due to salary arrears.

The match of the 12th round of the First League of the Ukrainian Football Championship between the clubs FSK Mariupol and YUKSA, which was scheduled for October 14, did not take place.

As Tribuna.com learned, the FSK Mariupol players refused to go out for the away match because the club's president, Oleksandr Yaroshenko, had not paid their salaries for three months.

There was a condition that at least some of the money would be paid before the start of this game, but this did not happen, so the team did not arrive for the match, which was supposed to start at 15:00.

According to the regulations, if a team does not take the field twice during the season, it is disqualified from the competition.

We will add that a few days ago The Kyrrex crypto exchange announced the termination of cooperation with FSK Mariupol.

In its statement, Kyrrex, among other things, noted the situation with the debts in the club and problems with interaction with the owner of the club.

“Our obligations do not include performing the functions of the president of the club, investor, or resolving financial issues and debts of the club. Kyrrex is not the owner or shareholder of FSK Mariupol and has never had a share in the ownership of the club,” said the statement published on the official website of the club.

After nine matches in the First League, FSK Mariupol has scored 12 points and is in sixth place in Group B. YUKSA with 18 points after ten matches is in third place.
