Dovbyk explained what the Ukrainian national team lacked to beat the Czech Republic in the Nations League

The “blue-yellows” forward noted the problem with the implementation of scoring chances.

Forward of the Ukrainian national team Artem Dovbyk commented on the result of the match of the 4th round of the group stage of the League of Nations of the 2024/25 season with the Czech Republic.

The tense match in Wroclaw, Poland, ended in a draw 1:1. After the final whistle, Dovbyk gave a flash interview, where he explained why he missed training before the game and what prevented the “blue-yellows” from winning.

“I had inflammation in my knee. Today I felt more or less well, but at the end of the match I was already tired – the coach made a substitution. This is the coach's decision, he sees when the player is tired.

The Czech Republic is a very good team. I know one player, he was in Girona. He played great against me, and his partner too. There were moments, but we lacked composure in the final episodes.

If we compare with the first matches, then four points are more or less a good result for us. Everyone is a little tired, but we have four points. We wanted six,” Dovbyk said in a commentary for Suspilne Sport.

After four rounds, the Ukrainian team with 4 points is in last place in Group B1, which is led by the Czech Republic with 7 points. Georgia and Albania are in second and third positions, respectively, with 6 points each.

In the next fifth round of the Nations League, the Ukrainians will play Georgia away, and the Czechs will face Albania away. The matches will take place on November 16.
