Unai Melgosa's team suffered their second defeat in a row after qualifying for the continental championship ahead of schedule.

Ukraine U21 team lost away to Serbiain the final 10th round match of the group stage of the Euro 2025 qualification. The match in the city of Stara Pazova ended with a score of 1:0.

The “blue-yellows” conceded the only goal in the 21st minute of the match. Defensive midfielder Ivan Varfolomeev lost the ball in front of his own penalty area, which Milan Aleksic took advantage of and scored a goal against Ruslan Neshcheret.

The Ukrainian youth team suffered its second defeat in a row in the qualification for the 2025 European Championship. A few days earlier, the “blue-yellows” lost away to England.

Before that, Unaj Melgosa's team won all eight matches, early guaranteeing their entry into the continental championship.

Thus, the youth team of Ukraine (U-21) with 24 points finished in second place in Group F. Our team was overtaken in the final table by England (25 points), which in the last round at home defeated Azerbaijan (7:0).

As a result, the “blue-yellows” became the best team among the holders of second places in all groups and qualified for the 2025 European Championship.

Let us recall that 16 teams will compete in the final part of Euro 2025 (U-21): Slovakia (the host of the final tournament) and another 15 teams that will join it based on the results of the selection (nine group winners, three best teams among the runners-up and three winners of the playoff, in which the six runners-up will play).
