Before the final whistle, the referee disallowed a goal against the "miners".
"Shakhtar" narrowly beat "Kolos" in the opening match 10th round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) of the 2024/25 season. The match in Kovalivka ended with a score of 0:1.
The only goal in this match was scored by the Donetsk team in the 59th minute – the hosts' player Ilir Krasniqi cut the ball into his own goal after a pass from Oleksandr Zubkov from the left flank.
At the end of the match, the Kovalivka club almost escaped defeat. In the 90+3rd minute, the Miners' defender Yefim Konoplya cut a cross from the right flank into his own goal. However, the goal was disallowed because the home team's striker Diego had previously waved off the visiting team's defender Pedro Henrique on the right flank of the attack.
Review of the Kolos – Shakhtar match
After this victory, Shakhtar remained in fourth place in the UPL with 19 points. “Kolos” (8 points) is in 13th place.
The “miners” will play their next match on Tuesday, October 22, in London against “Arsenal” in the 3rd round of the main round of the Champions League. Then, on Sunday, October 27, Marino Pusic's team will play against “Dynamo” in Kyiv in the UPL.
“Kolos” will play their next game on Friday, October 25, when they will visit “Polesye” in the 11th round of the Ukrainian championship.
