Francis knocked out his opponent in the first round.
Former UFC champion Francis Ngannou spectacularly defeated Brazilian Renan Ferreira at the PFL Super Fights mixed martial arts tournament, which took place on October 19 in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.
Francis knocked out his opponent in the first round. The Cameroonian fighter nicknamed “The Predator” performed a takedown, positioned himself above his opponent and delivered a series of powerful blows – the referee was forced to intervene and stop the fight.
Ngannou vs. Ferreira fight review
For Ngannou, this was his first MMA fight since 2022. Since then, he has tried boxing twice. First, he lost by split decision to Briton Tyson Fury, whom he even knocked down. After that, Francis was knocked out by another British ex-champion, Anthony Joshua.
Ngannou dedicated his victory over the Brazilian to his son, who died at the age of 15 months in April of this year.
“I can't think of anything other than my son Kobe. I only go into the ring for him. I hope people remember his name, because without Kobe I wouldn't be here. This win is for Kobe,” Ngannou said after the fight.
