Real Madrid's main goalkeeper turned to Lunin after four goals conceded in El Clasico

Real Madrid's main goalkeeper appealed to Lunin after four goals conceded in El Classico

Thibaut Courtois supported the Ukrainian after the crushing defeat of the “creamy” from "Barcelona".

Real Madrid's main goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois addressed Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin after the match of the 11th round of the Spanish La Liga of the 2024/25 season against Barcelona.

The Belgian supported his colleague in the same position, who conceded four goals from the Catalan club. Hansi Flick's team destroyed the Los Blancos 0-4 at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid.

“It's not your fault for the goals, they couldn't all be saved,” Courtois told the Ukrainian in the Real Madrid locker room after the game, Defensa Central reports.

It should be noted that Lunin took his place in the Royal Club's goal due to Courtois' injury. This was the Ukrainian goalkeeper's third match for the Blancos this season.

It is possible that the 25-year-old Ukrainian will play in several more of Real Madrid's next matches until Courtois fully recovers from his injury. The Madrid team has matches against Valencia (November 2) and Osasuna (November 9) in La Liga ahead, as well as against Milan (November 5) in the Champions League.

After the defeat in El Clasico, Carlo Ancelotti's men are second in the Spanish championship standings with 24 points. Real's gap to leader Barcelona has grown to 6 points.
