Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's team won a strong-willed victory over the Poltava club.

“Dynamo" beat “Vorskla" in the match of the 1/8 finals of the Ukrainian Cup season 2024/25. A tense match in Poltava ended with a score of 1:2 in favor of the guests.

The Poltava team took the lead in the 26th minute of the match – Nigerian forward Samson Iede scored a goal.

The “white-blues” quickly equalized the score – in the 31st minute, Panamanian striker Eduardo Guerrero converted a penalty awarded for the fact that Alexander Sklyar knocked down Nazar Voloshin in his own penalty area.

The second half of the match passed without goals, so the teams continued to determine the winner in extra time.

In the 100th minute, Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's team took the lead – Vladislav Vanat made a successful finish after Poltava goalkeeper Pavel Isenko made a mistake by blocking Voloshin's long-range shot right in front of him.

Yuriy Maksimov's team tried to score a second goal and transfer the game to a penalty shootout, but were unable to do so.

The quarter-finals and semi-finals of the 2024/25 Ukrainian Cup will be held on April 2 and 23, 2025, respectively (base dates).

Ukrainian Cup Final The 2024/2025 season is scheduled for May 14, 2025. The venue for the decisive match is to be determined by the UAF Executive Committee.

The current holder of the Ukrainian Cup is Shakhtar. In the final match of the 2023/24 season tournament, the Donetsk club defeated Poltava's Vorskla with a score of 2:1.

The Miners are the record holders for the number of national Cups won. By winning their 14th Ukrainian Cup, Shakhtar beat Dynamo, which has won this trophy 13 times.
