Ruben Amorim has officially taken charge of the "Red Devils".

"Manchester United" have announced the appointment of a new head coach. The former coach of Lisbon's Sporting Ruben Amorim has become the new manager.

The 39-year-old Portuguese specialist signed a contract with the “Mancunians” until the summer of 2027. The deal also includes an option to extend for another season.

Amorim will join Manchester United on Monday, November 11. Until then, the team will continue to be led by Ruud van Nistelrooy, who was appointed interim head coach after the dismissal of Erik ten Hag.

Amorim began his coaching career in 2018 at the Portuguese club Casa Pia, from 2019 to 2020 he headed Braga, with whom he won the Portuguese League Cup.

In the spring of 2020, Ruben became the head coach of Sporting. Since then, he has won the Portuguese championship twice with the Lisbon team, won the Portuguese League Cup twice, and won the Portuguese Super Cup once.

In the current Premier League season, the Red Devils are in 14th place in the standings with 11 points after nine matches played. On Sunday, November 3, Manchester United will face Chelsea at home.
