Girona of Ukrainian midfielder Viktor Tsygankov defeated Leganesin a high-scoring home match of the 12th round of the Spanish La Liga 2024/25 season. The meeting at the Municipal de Montilivi stadium in the city of Girona ended with a score of 4:3.

In the 21st minute of the match, Miguel Gutierrez put the hosts ahead, but three minutes later Renato Tapia scored for the visitors, equalizing the score.

In the 31st minute, the Catalans took the lead again thanks to a goal by Arnau Martinez, but before the break, the visitors restored parity in the game thanks to the efforts of Juan Cruz.

In the second half, Michel's men once again took the lead – in the 62nd minute, Cristian Stuani converted a penalty, and in the 73rd minute, Leganes defender Sergio Gonzalez scored an own goal.

The visitors tried to save themselves from defeat – in the 77th minute, Munir El Haddadi reduced his team's deficit to a minimum, but Girona was still able to hold on to the winning result.

It should be noted that Tsygankov was left out of the “white-reds” application for this match due to a muscle injury.

Review of the match “Girona” – “Leganes”

After this victory, Girona (15 points) rose to tenth place in La Liga. Leganes (11 points) is in 15th place.

In the next round of the Spanish championship, Tsygankov's team will meet Getafe away on November 10, and Leganes will host Sevilla the day before.
