A well-known Portuguese publication called the goalkeeper of the Ukrainian national team a Russian goalkeeper: he responded

Anatoly Trubin categorically addressed the media.

Benfica and Ukrainian national team goalkeeper Anatoly Trubin, who became one of the heroes of the match fourth round of the main stage of the Champions League against Bayern, got into an unexpected embarrassment.

After the match, the well-known Portuguese publication A Bola made a mistake in its article, calling Anatoly “the Russian goalkeeper”.

“The Russian goalkeeper says he always tries to keep his goal locked,” the subtitle of the news about Trubin says.

The 23-year-old Ukrainian has already responded to the blatant mistake of the Portuguese media, leaving a laconic message for journalists on his Instagram.

“For all media: I am Ukrainian,” Anatoly wrote, adding his photo with the Ukrainian flag.

Note that the A Bola website has already corrected its mistake, and now Trubin is listed as a “Ukrainian goalkeeper”.

In the match against Bayern, the Ukrainian goalkeeper made nine saves and conceded only one goal. The Lisbon club suffered a minimal away defeat to the Munich team (0:1).

In total, this season Anatoliy played 15 matches for Benfica in all tournaments, conceded 11 goals and kept 7 clean sheets.

After four rounds, Benfica is in 19th place in the overall standings of the main round of the Champions League with 6 points. In the next round, the “eagles” will play Monaco away on November 27.

The eight best teams of the main stage of the Champions League will reach the 1/8 finals. The clubs that take places from 9th to 24th in the overall standings will play paired play-off matches for a place in the 1/8 finals. The rest will finish their performance in European competitions.
