Ecuadorian Marco Angulo spent more than a month in a coma.

Footballer of the LDU club from Quito and the Ecuadorian national team Marco Angulo died at the age of 22 as a result of serious injuries received in a car accident.

The tragic news was reported by the press service of LDU.

On October 7, he was involved in a terrible accident that claimed the lives of three people. Marco himself was urgently hospitalized, doctors fought for his life for more than a month, but were unable to save him. The footballer was in a coma for 35 days and died on November 11.

Angulo had a pelvic fracture, right-sided pneumothorax, cerebral edema, subdural hematoma and internal hemorrhage.

At the club level, Marco managed to play for Independiente, in the MLS for Cincinnati, and the last club in his career was LDU from Quito. He also has two matches for the Ecuadorian national team.

Earlier it was reported that the former footballer of the Ukrainian youth team Dmitry Bogachev died in the war with the Russian occupiers.
