According to the coach of the “blue-yellows”, the national team players are waiting for the opportunity to play in their homeland.
Head coach of the Ukrainian national team Sergey Rebrov named the reason why the national team cannot hold training camps in its country.
According to the coach of the “blue-yellows”, European clubs are categorically opposed against their Ukrainian players going to training camps in Ukraine.
Rebrov also said that the national team players want to quickly get the opportunity not only to train in Ukraine, but also to play matches in front of fans in their homeland.
“Training camps in Ukraine? I would love to. I want to, but foreign players can't. Their clubs won't let them go. It's impossible now. Unfortunately. I'm sure all the players want to play in Ukraine for their fans.
I can't say that if we play in Poland or the Czech Republic, then there are no ours there. All the fans are ours. But when you play in Ukraine, it's a completely different matter, completely different emotions. We hope to return as soon as possible. This is very important for our people. We all understand this, we even try to do something, but now it is impossible,” Rebrov explained in an interview with the YouTube channel “Pryama Chervona”.
Soon, the Ukrainian national team will play the final matches of the group round of the 2024/25 Nations League: on November 16, Rebrov's team will play against Georgia in Batumi, and on November 19, they will fight Albania in Tirana. The “blue-yellows” are preparing for matches in Belek, Turkey.
