The Netherlands national team defeated the Hungary team in the 5th round of the group stage of the 2024/25 Nations League season. The match in Amsterdam ended with a score of 4:0.

The match was suspended in the 20th minute due to the fact that one of the assistant coaches of the Hungarians, Adam Szalai, felt ill and lost consciousness. He was taken to the hospital, where his condition stabilized.

As soon as the game resumed, the “Orange” opened the scoring – in the 21st minute, Wout Weghorst converted a penalty, and in the added time of the first half, Cody Gakpo scored.

In the second half of the match, Ronald Koeman's charges scored two more times. In the 64th minute, Denzel Dumfries scored, and Ten Koopmeiners put the finishing touches on the match in the 86th minute.

Thanks to this victory, the Netherlands (8 points) have secured the final second place in Group A3 and a place in the quarterfinals of the Nations League ahead of schedule. Hungary is in third place with 5 points. The winner of this quartet was Germany (13 points), which in a parallel match defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina (1 point) with a score of 7:0.

In the final round, the Netherlands will face Bosnia and Herzegovina away, and Hungary will host Germany. The matches will take place on Tuesday, November 19.
