“The Best Boxer in History”: Jake Paul Comments on His Victory Over Mike Tyson

"The best boxer in history": Jake Paul commented on his victory over Mike Tyson

The YouTube star paid tribute to the 58-year-old "Iron Mike", who returned to the ring.

Popular American blogger Jake Paul spoke about his victory over the former absolute world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

The fight lasted 8 rounds of two minutes each and ended with the victory of the 27-year-old showman over the 58-year-old boxing legend by unanimous decision of the judges – 80:72, 79:73, 79:73.

Immediately after the fight, the YouTube star paid tribute to his opponent, calling him the best boxer in history.

“It's a great honor, let's first congratulate Mike. He's the best boxer in history. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't be doing this. He's a boxing icon, it's a great honor for me to share the ring with him. It was a really tough fight, but I expected it, I knew it would happen,” Paul said in an interview after the fight.

It should be noted that this fight had official status – the result was included in the statistics of both fighters.

Let's add that Tyson and Paul were initially supposed to meet in the ring on July 20, but due to the deterioration of “Iron Mike's” health, the fight was postponed.

For Tyson, this was the first official fight since 2005, when he lost by technical knockout to Irishman Kevin McBride. Now “Iron Mike” has 59 fights on his record: 50 wins (44 by knockout) and 7 losses. Two more fights were declared no contest.

Paul has 11 wins (7 by knockout) and one defeat.

Recall that Mike Tyson slapped Jake Paul during the final battle of gazes.
