Les Bleus and Squadra Azzurra will continue the fight for the trophy in the playoffs.
The France national team beat the Italy team away in the final 6th round of the group round of the 2024/25 Nations League season. The match at the San Siro stadium in Milan ended with a score of 1:3.
The French opened the scoring in the 2nd minute of the match – Adrien Rabiot scored with a header after a corner kick by Lucas Digne.
In the 33rd minute, Didier Deschamps' men doubled their advantage – Digne brilliantly hit the left “nine” with a direct free kick, the Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario tried to save his team, but the ball ended up in the goal from his gloves.
In the 35th minute, the “Squadra Azzurra” managed to reduce the gap in the score – Andrea Cambiaso finished off a pass from Federico Dimarco from the left flank.
However, in the second half, Les Blés regained their two-goal lead – in the 65th minute, Rabiot scored a double, taking advantage of another assist from Digne.

Thus, the French took revenge on the Italians for their home defeat (1:3) in the opening round of the Nations League.
Thanks to this victory, France (13 points) became the winner of Group A2, beating Italy (13 points) due to a better goal difference. Earlier, both teams advanced to the 1/4 finals of the Nations League ahead of schedule.

In the parallel match of the final round of this quartet, Israel sensationally beat Belgium at home (1:0).
However, this did not help the Israelis rise from last place to avoid relegation to Division B. The Belgians finished third and will play in the playoffs for the right to remain in League A.
