The San Marino team won the second victory in their history in official matches.

The San Marino team beat Liechtenstein away in the match of the last 6th round of the group stage of the 2024/25 League of Nations. The match in the city of Vaduz ended with a score of 1:3.

The hosts won the first half thanks to a goal scored by Aron Zele in the 40th minute.

However, in the second half, the San Marino team made a comeback, sending three goals into the opponent's goal. The visitors' goals were scored by Lorenzo Lazzari, Nicola Nanni (converted a penalty) and Alessandro Golinucci.

Review of the Liechtenstein vs. San Marino match

It is worth noting that the San Marino team scored three goals in one match for the first time in its history. For her, this is only the second official victory in history and the third overall (in 34 years of performances).

Thus, the San Marino team (7 points) took the final first place in Group D4 and won a promotion to the class – the team will play the next season of the Nations League in Division C.

Gibraltar (6 points) finished in second place in this group, and will compete in the playoffs for promotion to League C. Liechtenstein (2 points) remained in Division D.

Earlier it was reported that all participants in the 1/4 finals of the 2024/25 Nations League were determined.
