Usyk vs Fury: What fees will the boxers receive for the rematch

Usyk vs. Fury: What Fees Will Boxers Receive for Rematch

The second fight between the Ukrainian and the Briton will take place on December 21, 2024.

On December 21, 2024, Ukrainian WBA, WBO, WBC and IBO heavyweight title holder Oleksandr Usyk will have a rematch with British former champion Tyson Fury.

The fight will take place in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). All titles currently held by the Ukrainian boxer will be up for grabs.

Unlike the first fight, this time the title of absolute world champion will not be at stake, since Alexander gave up the IBF title earlier. Now it is held by Briton Daniel Dubois, who has already managed to defend it by knocking out his compatriot Anthony Joshua.

How much money will Usyk and Fury earn for the rematch

According to The Sportster, the total purse for the Usyk-Fury rematch will be $190 million. Moreover, this amount will be distributed in a 60% to 40% ratio in favor of the winner of the first fight, in which the Ukrainian defeated the Briton by split decision.

Thus, Usyk's purse will be $114 million, and Fury's – $76 million.

It should be noted that these are guaranteed purses for the boxers, not dependent on the results of pay-per-view (PPV) sales.

Let us recall that for their first face-to-face fight, which took place on May 19, 2024 in Riyadh, the Ukrainian and the Briton received record fees in their careers.

Then the boxers earned $150 million between them, but the “Gypsy King” got more than twice as much money, despite the fact that Alexander owned more belts – 70% to 30% in favor of the Briton.

That is, Fury's fee for the first fight was $105 million, and Usyk received $45 million.

Having won the first fight, Alexander defended the WBO, WBA, IBO and IBF belts, and also took the WBC title from the “Gypsy King”. Usyk became the first absolute world champion in the heavyweight division in the 21st century.

Before that, the last “absolute” heavyweight champion was Lennox Lewis, who won this status in 1999, when he defeated Evander Holyfield. At that time, the WBA, WBC and IBF titles were at stake. The WBO belt was recognized as equal in 2007, so Usyk became the first “absolute” heavyweight champion in history with four main titles.
