The Ukrainian appeared on the field in the second half of the match with Espanyol.

Girona of Ukrainian midfielder Viktor Tsygankov defeated Espanyol at home in the match of the 14th round of the Spanish La Liga season 2024/25. The match at the Municipal de Montilivi stadium in Girona ended with a score of 4:1.

Michel's charges scored all their goals in the first half, and they did so in the first 27 minutes of the match. Bojan Miovski scored twice, while Bryan Gil and Ladislav Krejci also scored once each.

The “Parrots” were able to respond only with a consolation goal – in the 55th minute, Xavi Puado made an accurate strike.

Tsygankov started the match on the bench and entered the field in the 60th minute, replacing Yaser Asprilla. For the 27-year-old Ukrainian, this match was his first since the injury that forced him to miss the national team's November games in the Nations League.

Girona vs. Espanyol match review

With this victory, Girona (21 points) moved up to fifth place in La Liga – the “white-reds” won their third match in a row in the Spanish championship. In turn, Espanyol with 10 points is in the penultimate, 19th position.

In the next round of Primera, Tsygankov's team will play away against Villarreal on December 1, and the “parrots” will host Celta on November 30.
