In the first match under Claudio Ranieri, the “wolves” suffered a defeat from Napoli.

Roma of Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbyk lost away to Napoli in the match of the 13th round of the Italian Serie A of the 2024/25 season. The match at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples ended with a score of 1:0.

The only goal in this confrontation was scored in the 54th minute – Romelu Lukaku hit the goal of the Roman club after a pass from Giovanni Di Lorenzo.

Dovbyk came out in the starting lineup of the “wolves” and spent the entire match on the field. In the 66th minute, the Ukrainian was close to scoring a goal, but after his header, the ball hit the crossbar.

Note that this was the first match of the Romans under the leadership of Claudio Ranieri, who replaced the Croatian Ivan Juric as the head coach of the club. The Italian specialist previously led the “wolves” from 2009 to 2011 and in 2019.

Thanks to this victory, Napoli (29 points) took sole control of the Serie A table. Roma has 13 points and is in 12th position.

In the next round of the Italian championship, Dovbyk's team will host Atalanta on December 2, and Antonio Conte's men will play Torino away the day before.

Before that, Roma will meet Tottenham away on Thursday, November 28, in the 5th round of the main round of the Europa League.
