The Ukrainian women's foil fencing team won the team "silver" at the World Cup in Tunisia.
In the final, the Ukrainian team, consisting of Daria Mironyuk, Alina Polozyuk, Olha Sopit and Kateryna Budenko lost to the Japanese team (22:24), which won the bronze at the 2024 Olympic Games.
On the way to the fight for the gold, the Ukrainians defeated Hungary (45:38) in the 1/8 finals, and in the quarterfinals they defeated Italy (45:43), the leader of the world ranking, the current world champion and the vice-champion of the Olympics. In the semifinals, the Ukrainian foil fencers defeated France (41:39).
For the first time in history, the Ukrainian foil fencers won the team silver at the World Cup.
Before this, the greatest achievement set by the same team was the bronze at the stage in Hong Kong last season.
