Javier Mascherano has taken over the American club.
Inter Miami has announced the appointment of Javier Mascherano as head coach.
The American club announced this on its official website.
The former Liverpool and Barcelona player signed a contract with the Miami club until the end of 2027. The Argentine replaced his compatriot Gerardo Martino as coach.
Thus, Mascherano reunited with his former Barcelona teammates: Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, who now play for Inter Miami.
Mascherano began his coaching career in 2022 and worked with the Argentina U-20 and U-23 teams. The 40-year-old specialist was the head coach of the “albiceleste” at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
It should be noted that the club from Miami, owned by the famous former England national team footballer David Beckham, also features Ukrainian defender Sergei Krivtsov.
Recall that in November of this year, Inter Miami sensationally crashed out in the first round of the MLS playoffs.
