Biathlon World Cup: results of the mixed relay in Kontiolahti

The Ukrainian team took sixth place.

On Saturday, November 30, at the first stage of the Biathlon World Cup 2024/25 season in Kontiolahti, Finland, the classic mixed relay took place.

The Ukrainian team Kristina Dmitrenko, Yulia Dzhima, Anton Dudchenko and Vitaly Mandzyn represented the race. The “blue-yellows” finished in sixth place.

In the first stage, Dmitrenko used one extra round in the prone shooting and left the shooting range in 11th position. Kristina shot flawlessly in the standing shooting, moving up to fifth place, but she passed the baton in ninth place.

In the second stage, Dzhima missed once in the prone shooting, which she left in ninth position. In the standing shooting, Yulia shot perfectly and passed the baton in seventh place.

In the third stage, Dudchenko did not miss in the prone shooting and after shooting raised the Ukrainian team to sixth place. In the standing shooting, Anton used two extra rounds and moved up to fifth place, but passed the baton in sixth place.

In the final fourth stage, Mandzyn shot cleanly in the prone position and left the shooting range in sixth place. In the standing shooting, Vitaly used two additional rounds and finished in sixth place.

Norway won the mixed relay, beating France at the finish line. Sweden finished third.

It should be noted that the new season of the Biathlon World Cup started on November 30 with a single mixed relay at the stage in Kontiolahti. The Ukrainian team, represented by Olena Gorodnaya and Artem Tyshchenko, took ninth place.

The next races in Kontiolahti will be held on Sunday, December 1. These will be men's and women's classic relays, which will start at 14:45 and 18:25 Kyiv time, respectively.
