Two Ukrainians entered the top 15 following the sprint race in Kontiolahti.
On Friday, December 6, the opening stage of the 2024/25 Biathlon World Cup in Kontiolahti, Finland, saw the men's sprint race.
Ukraine was represented in the race by Dmytro Pidruchny, Vitaly Mandzyn, Anton Dudchenko and Bogdan Tsymbal.
The best result among the Ukrainians was shown by Mandzyn, who took 14th place. Dudchenko was in 15th place. At the same time, Pidruchnyi and Tsymbal did not make it into the scoring zone.
The sprint was won by Frenchman Emilien Jacquelin. Second place went to Swede Sebastian Samuelsson, and German Philipp Nawrath rounded out the top three.

The stage in Kontiolahti will continue on Saturday, December 7, with a women's sprint race. The start is at 18:10 Kyiv time.
The stage in Kontiolahti will end on Sunday, December 8, with men's and women's mass starts, which will begin at 15:30 and 18:10 Kyiv time, respectively.
