Claudio Ranieri won his first victory after returning to the helm of the Roman club.
"Roma" thrashed "Lecce" in a home match of the 15th round of the Italian Serie A season-2024/25. The match at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome ended with a score of 4:1.
The teams exchanged goals in the first half. Alexis Saelemakers put the Romans ahead in the 13th minute, but Nikola Krstovic scored for the visitors in the 40th minute.
After the break, the Wolves scored three unanswered goals against their opponents. The goals were scored by Gianluca Mancini (59th minute), Niccolò Pizilli (66th minute) and Quadio Kone (86th minute).
Roma's Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbyk was not included in the match application due to illness.
Roma vs. Lecce match review
Roma ended a streak of four consecutive defeats in Serie A. This is also the first victory for the Romans since the return of Claudio Ranieri as head coach of the club.
Dovbyk's team (16 points) is in 11th place in the Italian championship standings. Lecce (13 points) is in 16th place.
In the next round of Serie A, the Romans will play away against Como, and Lecce will host Monza. Both matches will take place on Sunday, December 15.
Before that, Ranieri's charges will have a home match of the 6th round of the main round of the Europa League against Portuguese Braga on Thursday, December 12.
