37-year-old Denis Oleynik has decided to hang up his boots.
Cherkasy LNZ midfielder Denis Oleynik has ended his career as a footballer.
The UPL club's telegram channel reports this.
The 37-year-old player's last match was was the match of the 17th round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) against Oleksandria, in which he came on as a substitute in the 61st minute.
Denis's contract with LNZ was calculated until the end of the current season, but the parties decided to end their cooperation earlier.
Oleynik is a graduate of Dynamo Kyiv. He also played for Neftyanik, Arsenal Kyiv, Metalist, Dnipro, Dutch Vitesse, German Darmstadt, Desna, Helios, Finnish SIK, Vorskla and LNZ.
As part of Dynamo, he was the winner of the championship, Cup and Super Cup of Ukraine. Three times he was a bronze medalist of the Ukrainian championship with Metalist, a silver medalist of the UPL with Dnipro.
During his career, Denis played 418 matches, scored 90 goals and gave 35 assists, including 12 matches for the Ukrainian national team.
Earlier it was reported that the former striker of Kyiv Dynamo, Donetsk Shakhtar and the Ukrainian national team Junior Moraes announced his retirement.
