Michael Igwegbe distinguished himself with an extremely cool act.
Nigerian boxer Michael Igwegbe fought against Ukrainian Igor Tsymbalyuk, which took place on December 14 in Kyiv, in socks with the inscription “AFU”.
This was reported by the promotion company Top Boxing Generation.
After the fight, which ended with Tsymbalyuk's victory by unanimous decision, the Nigerian thanked all Ukrainians and said that he would donate part of his fee to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was later confirmed that Igwegbe kept his promise.
“Michael is our Cossack. We can confirm that he kept his promise and donated part of his fee to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thank you,” Top Boxing Generation said on social media.
It should be noted that this was Igwegbe's second professional boxing fight. He also lost his debut professional fight.
Tsymbalyuk won his third victory in the professional ring (2 by knockout). He also has two losses.
In the main fight of the boxing evening, Yanis Kurylenko managed to take the Ukrainian and WBC Ukraine titles from Andriy Boryshpolts, defeating him by split decision.
