The official ceremony of arrival of Usyk and Fury for the rematch took place: the boxers gave comments (video)

Already on Saturday, December 21, the Ukrainian and the Briton will meet in the ring again.

On Tuesday evening, December 17, the official ceremony of arrival of the WBA, WBO, WBC and IBO heavyweight title holder Oleksandr Usyk and ex-champion Tyson Fury for a rematch.

During this media event, the boxers got off their planes and gave short interviews live. The Ukrainian arrived at the ceremony in a spectacular outfit and even managed to try on the role of a pilot.

“Big show? Yeah, I feel it. I feel it a lot. Hello, Riyad. It's great to be back here. Mr. Turki, thank you very much. See you on December 21st, I'm ready. I'm ready to fight. Tyson said he's going to knock me out? That's just him talking. We'll see. Look, we'll see. God willing. It's a really big fight. I feel good. What do I feel? I feel like I'm going to win,” Usyk said.

In turn, the “Gypsy King” again stated that he would knock out the Ukrainian.

“This is the only show in town, the Gypsy King is here. This is the biggest thing I've ever done. I can't wait to put on a show again. I'm going to knock him out. I'm going to give Turky what I promised him in May – a cooked rabbit in the kitchen. I'm going to keep that promise. Favorite moment this week? My favorite moment is when my hand goes up on Saturday night, 'And new,'” Fury said.

The Usyk-Fury rematch will take place on December 21 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). All titles held by the Ukrainian boxer will be at stake.

Unlike the first fight, this time the title of absolute world champion will not be at stake, since Alexander had previously renounced the IBF title. Now it is owned by Briton Daniel Dubois, who has already managed to defend it by knocking out his compatriot Anthony Joshua.

Recall that on the night of May 19, 2024, Usyk defeated Fury by split decision in a fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion. At the end of the ninth round, Alexander knocked his opponent down.

Thus, Alexander defended the WBO, WBA, IBO and IBF belts, and also took the WBC title from the “Gypsy King”. Usyk became the first absolute world champion in the heavyweight division in the 21st century.

Before that, the last “absolute” heavyweight champion was Lennox Lewis, who won this status in 1999, when he defeated Evander Holyfield. At that time, the WBA, WBC and IBF titles were at stake. The WBO belt was recognized as equal in 2007, so Usyk became the first “absolute” heavyweight champion in history with four main titles.
