Yulia almost made it onto the podium in the sprint race, finishing in a high fourth place.

On Friday, December 20, the third stage of the 2024/25 Biathlon World Cup in Annecy-Le Grand-Bornand, France, continued with the women's sprint race.

Ukraine was represented by five biathletes: Alexandra Merkushyna, Kristina Dmitrenko, Yuliya Dzhima, Anna Krivonos and Liliya Steblina, for whom it was the first World Cup race in her career.

The best result among the Ukrainians was shown by Dzhima, who took fourth place thanks to her impeccable shooting.

Dmitrenko (21st position) and Merkushyna (48th) also qualified for the pursuit race. Krivonos and Steblina finished outside the top 60, failing to qualify for the pursuit.

The winner of the sprint was Frenchwoman Justine Brezat-Boucher. Only 1.4 seconds behind her was German Franziska Preuss, who came in second. The top three was completed by Slovenian Annamarija Lampic.

Let's add that the day before in Annecy there was a men's sprint race, where the best result among the Ukrainians was shown by Anton Dudchenko, who took 12th place.

The stage in Annecy will continue on Saturday, December 21, with men's and women's pursuit races, which will start at 13:30 and 15:45 Kyiv time, respectively.
