"Gypsy King" was let down by accuracy: statistics of punches in Usyk & Fury rematch published

The Briton threw more punches, but the Ukrainian was more accurate.

The statistics of punches in the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury have been published, in which the Ukrainian defeated the Briton and defended the WBA titles, WBO, WBC and IBO heavyweight champions.

During the entire fight, Usyk landed 423 punches, of which 179 (42.3%) were accurate. The “Gypsy King” struck 509 times, but only 144 (28.3%) of them hit the target.

The Ukrainian threw 211 jabs, 73 of which landed (34.6%). Tyson threw 252 jabs, 44 of which were accurate (17.5%).

If we consider powerful punches (with the stronger hand), Usyk accurately landed 106 of 212 punches (50%), and Fury landed 100 of 257 (38.9%).

Usyk defeated Fury by unanimous decision: 116-112, 116-112, 116-112. However, the Briton did not admit defeat to the Ukrainian, saying that he was unfairly judged.

Unlike the first fight, the Usyk-Fury rematch did not have the title of absolute world champion at stake, since Alexander had previously renounced the IBF title. Now it is owned by Briton Daniel Dubois, who has already managed to defend it by knocking out his compatriot Anthony Joshua.

Recall that on the night of May 19, 2024, Usyk won a split decision against Fury in a fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion. At the end of the ninth round, Alexander knocked his opponent down. The Ukrainian became the first absolute heavyweight world champion in the 21st century.
