WBA, WBO, WBC and IBO heavyweight title holder Alexander Usyk told who he dedicates his victory over Tyson Fury in the rematch to.

After Usyk was declared the winner of the fight in the ring, he said that he wanted to dedicate this victory to his mother and all the mothers of Ukraine.

“I want to dedicate this victory to my mommy, who has been worried and nervous about me for many years. And also to all the mothers of Ukraine,” Usyk said.

It should be noted that the Ukrainian dedicated his first victory over Fury to his father, who died in 2012.

Usyk defeated Fury by unanimous decision – all three judges 116-112. The Ukrainian champion defended his WBA, WBO, WBC and IBO belts in the heavyweight division.

Unlike the first fight, this time the title of absolute world champion was not at stake, since Alexander had previously renounced the IBF title. Now it is owned by Briton Daniel Dubois, who has already managed to defend it by knocking out his compatriot Anthony Joshua.

Recall that the first fight between Usyk and Fury took place in Riyadh on the night of May 19, 2024. Then the Ukrainian defeated the Briton by split decision. At the end of the ninth round, Alexander knocked his opponent down.

Usyk became the first absolute world champion in the heavyweight division in the 21st century, holding all four main boxing belts in his hands – WBO, WBA, IBF and WBC.

Before that, the last “absolute” in the heavyweight division was Lennox Lewis, who received this status in 1999, when he defeated Evander Holyfield. At that time, the WBA, WBC and IBF titles were at stake. The WBO belt was recognized as equal in 2007, so Usyk became the first “absolute” in the heavyweight division in history with four main titles.
