Famous personalities of world boxing shared their impressions of the second fight between Usyk and Fury.
On the night of December 22, Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk defeated Briton Tyson Fury in a rematch, defending his champion titles world titles in the WBA, WBO, WBC and IBO heavyweight divisions.
Usyk defeated Fury by unanimous decision. At the end of 12 rounds, all three referees declared the Ukrainian boxer's triumph over the Briton: 116-112, 116-112, 116-112.
Here's how famous representatives of the boxing world reacted to the result of the Usyk-Fury rematch.
Vladimir Klitschko, former world champion
“Congratulations to champion Oleksandr Usyk. Ukraine is lucky to have you. You are a true standard-bearer of our resilience. Glory to Ukraine.”
Vitali Klitschko, former world champion
“A worthy and brilliant victory. Alexander Usyk defended all his titles in professional boxing in the rematch.
This was one of the most anticipated rematches in the history of boxing. Very tense and emotional. Resonant long before the event itself. Russian “experts” and “predictors” especially resonated with foam.
Congratulations, Alexander. This victory today is not only your personal one. This is a victory for Ukraine. Glory to Ukraine. Glory to those who defend it. And to those who glorify it.”
Lennox Lewis, former world champion
“It was a good fight. I wish Tyson had been a little more aggressive and a little more active in going after Usyk. Usyk won the first fight, so Tyson needed to go after him and have confidence that he would win the second fight.
The scorecards? I didn't hear the scorecards. Do you agree with who won? Yes. Maybe Fury thinks he won the fight. I don't know. In my opinion, he could have worked a little more.
Usyk hit him freely to the body a few times and those points counted. I think the judges saw that.”
Anthony Joshua, former world champion
“Respect.”
Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua's promoter
“I got a draw. I look at the reaction and most people think Usyk won the fight. Get rid of the AI judge, he doesn't work.
The only thing I will say is that three judges gave the same scores and I like it when that happens.”
Terence Crawford, world champion
“Congratulations, Usyk. I'm happy for you.”
Shakur Stevenson, world champion
“My apologies, Usyk. You're different.”
Oscar De La Hoya, former world champion
“Congratulations, Usyk. You're a real gentleman and a professional. Tyson, my friend, back to work. You'll be back.”
Tony Bellew, former world champion
“Great last round. Brilliant chess match. I saw Usyk win but no one can complain either way. It wasn't a robbery. Both fighters fought hard. I just felt Usyk did enough, he put the pressure on.
Too wide but I thought he won. I can see why – it's the pressure and the consistency of his work that takes away the rounds. Tyson Fury is a warrior and deserves a lot of credit for going up against Usyk again.”
Frank Warren, Tyson Fury's promoter
“It's impossible. How did Tyson only win four rounds in that fight? It's impossible. I don't know. He's as disappointed as I am. I'm not biased. Everyone in the front row thought the same thing. It's too early to say anything, the fight just ended. Obviously, emotions are running high.
But you know, it's crazy. It's crazy. I don't understand. I'm very, very disappointed in it. But it is what it is. And we'll see what happens with Tyson in the future,” Warren said.
Ekaterina Usyk, wife of Oleksandr Usyk
“Congratulations to Ukraine on the victory. I love you.”
Earlier it was reported that the Briton did not admit defeat to Usyk, saying that he was unfairly judged. The Ukrainian boxer has already reacted to these words of the “Gypsy King.”

Unlike the first fight, in the Usyk-Fury rematch the title of absolute world champion was not at stake, since Alexander had previously renounced the IBF title. Now it is owned by the Briton Daniel Dubois, who has already managed to defend it by knocking out his compatriot Anthony Joshua.
Recall that on the night of May 19, 2024, Usyk defeated Fury by split decision in a fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion. At the end of the ninth round, Alexander knocked his opponent down. The Ukrainian became the first absolute world heavyweight champion in the 21st century.
