"It was a close fight": former world champion names turning point in Usyk & Fury rematch

Carl Froch believes that in the second half of the fight the Ukrainian took advantage of the Briton's fatigue.

Former super middleweight world champion Carl Froch commented on the victory WBA, WBO, WBC and IBO heavyweight title holder Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch with Tyson Fury.

The 47-year-old Briton, who now works as an expert on boxing matches, believes that Usyk and Fury put up a competitive fight.

In his opinion, the turning point of the fight occurred in the sixth or seventh round, when the “Gypsy King” began to get tired, which the Ukrainian managed to take advantage of.

“It was a close fight. From the first round until about the sixth or seventh, everything was pretty close. When I was counting, I gave the round to Tyson, the round to Usyk. There were a few rounds where I really couldn't decide the winner.

The turning point probably came in the sixth or seventh round. Usyk closed the distance and turned on the moment he felt Tyson was starting to tire. In this fight, the fighters didn't do anything special, but the key blows were on Usyk's side,” Seconds Out quotes Froch as saying.
