Three Ukrainians have qualified for the pursuit race.

On Thursday, January 9, the fourth stage of the 2024/25 Biathlon World Cup in Oberhof, Germany, began with the women's sprint race.

Ukraine was represented by five biathletes: Elena Gorodnaya, Yulia Dzhima, Kristina Dmitrenko, Anna Krivonos and Darina Chalyk, for whom this was her debut race at the World Cup level.

The best result among the Ukrainians was shown by Dzhima, who finished in 14th place with clean shooting. In addition to her, Dmitrenko (finished the top 40) and Chalyk (56th position) also qualified for the pursuit race.

Frenchwoman Paula Bothe won the first race of the new year. Norwegian Maren Kirkeide came in second, and Milena Todorova from Bulgaria rounded out the top three.
