This is the first trophy of the Ukrainian goalkeeper as part of the Lisbon club.
Benfica became the owner of the Portuguese League Cup. In the tournament final, the “eagles” defeated Sporting: regular time of the match ended with a score of 1:1, and in the penalty shootout the team of Ukrainian goalkeeper Anatoly Trubin triumphed – 7:6.
The match took place on a neutral field in Leiria. Benfica opened the scoring in the 29th minute through Andreas Schjelderup.
The Lions equalized before the break – Victor Dekeres converted a penalty in the 43rd minute.
The score on the scoreboard did not change in the second half of the match. Therefore, the fate of the trophy was determined in a series of post-match penalties.
Benfica converted all seven of their shots from the 11-meter mark, while Sporting missed one – Trubin blocked the last shot from Trincao.

This is Trubin's first trophy as part of Benfica. Anatoly joined the Portuguese club in the summer of 2023 from Shakhtar Donetsk.
