"I didn't see it coming": Fury's promoter reacts to his decision to retire

Frank Warren says the "Gypsy King" can be proud of the path he has taken in boxing.

Frank Warren, the promoter of former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, commented on the fact that the British boxer announced his retirement.

According to the promoter, such a decision by the “Gypsy King” came as a surprise to him.

Warren noted Fury's significant achievements, which he can be proud of, and gave his client only one piece of advice – to enjoy life.

“If that's what he wants to do, then that's what he should do. He's made a lot of money, he's achieved a lot, and after discussing it with his family, he made a decision. He's had a fantastic career. Let him enjoy it now.

I didn't expect it, but that's his life. He was disappointed with the result of the fight with Usyk, but it can't be changed.

Tyson can be proud of what he has achieved in his career, especially after his second comeback. So I'll just tell him one thing: enjoy life,” Warren said in an interview with Boxing on TNT Sports.

During his career, Fury has fought 37 professional fights, winning 34 of them (24 by knockout). The 36-year-old “Gypsy King” has two losses (both to Oleksandr Usyk), and the Briton ended another fight in a draw (against Deontay Wilder).

In his last fight, Fury lost to Usyk by unanimous decision in a rematch on the night of December 22, 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and was unable to take away the Ukrainian WBA, WBO, WBC and IBO heavyweight titles

Earlier it was reported that Fury did not admit defeat to Usyk in the rematch, disagreeing with the judges' verdict. The Ukrainian boxer reacted categorically to these words of the “Gypsy King”, stating that he had won a well-deserved victory.
