Yastremska is playing in the main draw of the Australian Open for the sixth time. Last year, she reached the semifinals of the Australian Open, where she lost to Chinese Zheng Qingwen. This is her highest achievement in the Grand Slam tournaments.

In turn, Svitolina dealt with American Caroline Dolehide in the second round of the Australian Open 2025(No. 82 WTA). The match lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes and ended with a score of 6:1, 6:4.

During the entire match, Elina served 7 times aces, made 3 double faults and used 3 out of 10 break points. This was the first face-to-face meeting of the tennis players.

Elina is playing in the main draw of the Australian Open for the 12th time. Her personal best at this Grand Slam tournament is reaching the quarterfinals in 2018 and 2019.

Thus, three Ukrainian tennis players will play in the third round of the Australian Open 2025. Earlier, Marta Kostyuk (No. 18 WTA) also reached this stage.

The matches of the main draw of the Australian Open 2025 will be held from January 12 to 26. The current champion of the tournament is Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, who is playing in neutral status due to the full-scale war of Russian occupiers against Ukraine.
