Liliia Steblina showed the best result among Ukrainians.
On Wednesday, January 29, the 2025 European Biathlon Championships in Martel Val Martello, Italy, began with the women's individual race.
Ukraine was represented by five biathletes: Oleksandra Merkushyna, Anastasia Merkushyna, Anna Krivonos, Daryna Chalyk and Lilia Steblina.
The best result among the Ukrainians was shown by Steblina, who finished 18th with two penalty minutes. All five representatives of Ukraine entered the top 40.
German Johanna Puff became the European Champion in the individual race. Her compatriot Marlene Fichtner won silver, and Sweden's Anna-Karin Heidenberg won bronze.
