The Ukrainian national biathlon team won gold in the single mixed relay at the 2025 Winter European Youth Olympic Festival, which is taking place in Bakuriani (Georgia).
The winners of the race with a result of 40:20.7 were Viktoria Khvostenko and Taras Tarasyuk.
The Ukrainians demonstrated the best shooting among all the participating teams, using only three additional rounds for 40 targets.
The silver medalists with a gap of +16.8 were the representatives of the Czech Republic, and the bronze was taken by the Swiss team (+55.5).
For Ukraine, this is the third medal and the first gold at the 2025 EYOF. Earlier, Maria Khokhelko won two bronze medals – in the 1500 m and 500 m short track.
This is also the third victory in biathlon in the history of Ukraine at the EYOF and the first since 2023, when Oleksandra Merkushyna won gold in the women's sprint.
The 2025 Winter European Youth Olympic Festival is being held in Georgia from February 9 to 16.
