In Dnipro, at the KSK Shinnik arena, the first semi-final of the FAVBET-2024/25 Ukrainian Cup was played out, in which BC Rivne beat Kharkiv Sokoly with a score of 90:70.
Let us recall that this match started yesterday with more than a two-hour delay. The first quarter was initially equal, the Kharkiv team even led in the score, but then the representative of the elite managed a spurt and gained a 6-point lead. The Falcons added to the second period, took the lead for the last time, but by the big break the score was fixed in favor of BC Rivne – 38:41.
The third quarter was never completed. During it, the match was interrupted several times due to air raid sirens, until the final stoppage occurred at the score of 44:56. In the end, it was decided to finish the match today, in the same place, at 11:00.
And again the alarm did not allow the start at the scheduled time, but with an hour and a half delay the game was still resumed. Kharkiv residents were unable to turn the game around, the rest of the third quarter was for BC Rivne, who achieved a handicap of +16. As a result, the representative of the Super League FAVBET brought the match to a victorious end with class.
The best player in the Sokolov team was Dmitry Martynov. In the team of their opponents, CJ Williamson once again demonstrated a powerful game – he made a double-double, and two of his partners scored at least 17 points.
BC Rivne reached a historic final for itself. The second finalist of the Cup will be determined in the confrontation between Dnipro and Cherkasskie Monkeys. The match was also postponed from yesterday to today; at this moment the meeting should already start, if force majeure circumstances do not interfere again.
Considering the postponements and replays, the Cup final will not take place today. A new date for the decisive duel for the trophy will be confirmed in the near future.
