Dubois's trainer: “He has problems in front of Usyk… Daniel was suspended”

World champion Daniel Dubois' trainer Don Charles explained why the Briton refused to fight Joseph Parker.

“Daniel was well prepared for this fight. But two days before the fight, his father called me and said that he was not feeling well. We could not risk his health, his belt was also at stake. If it had happened a week before the fight, then maybe we would have taken the risk.

“This is not the first time this has happened to Daniel. There were problems before the first fight with Usyk, his throat was dry and he was suspended from training for four days. There was a similar thing before the fight with Hrgovic,” Charles said.

Dubois was replaced in the fight with Parker by Martin Bakole, who lost in the second round by knockout.
