Ferrari blocks Cardile's move to Aston Martin until summer

Ferrari has blocked the transfer of Enrico Cardile, its former technical director, to Aston Martin until the summer, the Italian press, in particular the Corriere dello Sport newspaper, writes about this.

According to her information, Maranello requires Cardile to start work at his new place only after the entire 12-month “academic leave” has expired – therefore, he will not be able to try on the Aston Martin uniform until July.

If events unfold exactly according to this scenario, then Cardile's contribution to the development of the 2026 car will be clearly less. It is assumed that at Aston Martin, the Italian specialist will take the position of technical director and will be generally responsible for the process of creating the chassis, working closely with Adrian Newey.

As Corriere dello Sport writes, the delay in Cardile joining the team has greatly angered Lawrence Stroll, the owner of Aston Martin, since other agreements had previously been reached between the parties. It is unclear why they have now been violated, and lawyers for both teams are allegedly already dealing with this conflict situation.
