Elina Svitolina has taken away from Marta Kostyuk the status of the best Ukrainian tennis player at the moment.
The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) and the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) updated their rankings following the past competition week. Elina Svitolina regained her title of Ukraine's number one tennis player.
This happened after Marta Kostyuk , having been eliminated in the first round of the tournament in Merida, dropped five places in the world ranking. Now Svitolina is in 23rd place, and Kostyuk is 24th.
There are two more Ukrainians in the top 100 of the WTA rankings. Dayana Yastremska dropped two places and is in 46th place. Angelina Kalinina also lost two positions and became 54th.
The world's number one tennis player remains the neutral tennis player with a Belarusian passport, Aryna Sabalenka. The second and third places, respectively, are still occupied by the Polish Iga Swiatek and the American Cori Gauff.

The leader is Italian Jannik Sinner, who was disqualified for three months due to doping. Second place is occupied by German Alexander Zverev, and the top 3 is completed by Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.
