OFFICIAL. Absolute champion ordered to fight top boxer

Absolute light heavyweight world champion Dmitry Bivol has learned his next opponent.

The World Boxing Council (WBC) has ordered Bivol to fight undefeated American boxer David Benavidez, who holds the WBC interim world title in that weight class. If Bivol refuses the fight, he will lose the WBC title.

Earlier, Al-Sheikh announced a major boxing match, in which the status of absolute world champion will also be at stake.
