Jacques Villeneuve to Drive His Father's Ferrari Again

The last weekend of April will see the historic French Grand Prix at the Paul Ricard circuit, and the motorsport world will witness a truly historic moment.

Jacques Villeneuve will be at the start of the race, driving a Ferrari 312 T5, which his father drove in Formula 1 in 1980.

And although that season was frankly unsuccessful for Gilles Villeneuve and for the Scuderia in general (the Canadian never even made it onto the podium, although he had become vice-world champion a year before), now this is perhaps not so important and does not at all diminish the symbolic significance of the upcoming event.

Jacques has driven the cars his father raced in the past, for example in 2012 at Fiorano, but those were demonstration runs, and now the 1997 world champion will be racing in the Grand Prix de France Historique, even if it is just a nostalgia race.
