Ruslan Rotan's team continues to fight for the title of Ukrainian champion.
Oleksandria defeated Obolon in the opening match of the 21st round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) of the 2024/25 season. The match at the Nika stadium in Oleksandria ended with a score of 4:0 .
In the first half, the home team scored three times against the Brewers. Alexander Filippov scored twice, scoring in the 13th and 44th minutes. Another goal was scored in the 16th minute by Brazilian Bezerra.
In the second half of the match, Ruslan Rotan's team scored for the fourth time in the visitors' goal. In the 90th minute, the final score of the game was set by the Frenchman Theo N'Dika Matam.

After this victory, Oleksandria (47 points) continues to occupy second place in the UPL table and has come closer to Dynamo (50 points), which is leading with a game in hand. Rotan's team has increased its gap from third-placed Shakhtar, which has played two games less, to 7 points.
“Obolon” remained in 13th place in the elite division of the Ukrainian championship, having 18 points to its credit.
In the next round of the UPL, which will take place after the international break, Oleksandria will play away against Levy Bereg, and Obolon will host Shakhtar. Both matches are scheduled for March 29.
