• Madison Keys won her 16th match in a row and took a 3-2 lead in her head-to-head match with Belinda Bencic. It was their first match since 2022. In 64 minutes of play, the American lost one game on her serve and made six breaks.
Keys is making her seventh career WTA 1000 semifinal appearance, reaching this stage for the first time in Indian Wells. Her next opponent is world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, whom Keys defeated in this year’s Australian Open final (their overall score is 4-2 in Sabalenka’s favor).
