The “Bees” managed to achieve a strong-willed victory over the “Cherries” in the duel between the clubs for which the Ukrainians play.

Bournemouth of Ukrainian defender Ilya Zabarnyi suffered a defeat to Brentford of Ukrainian midfielder Yegor Yarmolyuk in a home match of the 29th round of the English Premier League (EPL) of the 2024/25 season. The match at the Vitality Stadium in Bournemouth ended with a score of 1:2 .

The Cherries opened the scoring in the 17th minute of the match – an own goal was scored by the visiting player Vitali Janelt. In the 30th minute, the Bees equalized – an accurate strike was made by Yoan Wissa.

Brentford snatched victory in the second half, with Christian Noergaard scoring the decisive goal in the 71st minute.

Zabarnyi started for Bournemouth and was substituted in the 86th minute. It was Ilya's first match since he received a three-match ban for a red card in the 26th round of the Premier League against Wolverhampton.

In turn, Yarmolyuk started the match on the Brentford bench and appeared on the field as a substitute in the 72nd minute. Neither Ukrainian scored.

After this match, Bournemouth (44 points) are in 9th place in the Premier League table. Brentford (41 points) rose to 11th place.

In the next round of the Premier League, Zabarnyi's team will host Ipswich, and Yarmolyuk's club will compete away against Newcastle. Both matches will take place after the international break, on April 2.
