Mikhail Gavrilyuk received a two-year “ban”.
Ukrainian hammer thrower Mykhailo Gavrilyuk has been given a two-year ban for violating anti-doping rules.
The National Anti-Doping Center of Ukraine reported this.
The disqualification took effect on December 27, 2024 and will end on December 26, 2026.
This is the first time Gavrilyuk has been suspended from competition. In March 2023, the Ukrainian Athletics Federation banned Gavrilyuk and another hammer thrower, Mikhail Kokhan, from participating in international events due to violations of ethical standards of conduct at the European Cup.
26-year-old Gavrilyuk is a multiple prize winner and champion of Ukraine, European champion in hammer throw among youth (2016), two-time prize winner of the world championships among youth (silver 2015, bronze 2018), winner of the European Youth Olympic Festival (2015).
Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh won “bronze” at the 2025 World Indoor Athletics Championships.
